Aosta is located in the far north-west of Italy, and is the capital of the Aosta Valley region, one of the twenty regions that make up the Italian territory. Tourists flock to the city due to the archaeological and historical monuments it shelters, as it includes many churches, cathedrals and temples built in the Renaissance style, as well as many Roman monuments such as bridges, walls and theaters, in addition to castles, forts, caves and historical palaces. The city also enjoys a green natural environment, and there are many hiking and camping trips in the middle of the valleys and green spaces. There are also national parks, nature reserves, botanical gardens and public parks in the city. It is considered an important home for art and literature as it contains a rich collection of art and historical museums and cultural centers.
