The Roman Theater is one of the remaining buildings from the Roman civilization in the city of Aosta, northwestern Italy. It was built in late August, decades after the city was founded in 25 BC. It is a large theater that extends over an area of 81 x 64 m, and can accommodate about 3500-4000 spectators. It was used for musical and theatrical performances in the city. The theater has undergone many restorations, the last of which was in 2009. The theater area also includes many other ruins, including structures and sculptures built during the reign of Claudius.
