A memorial erected in 1541 in memory of the Calvinists' expulsion from the Aosta Valley, the monument consists of a column about 6 meters high, surmounted by a gray stone cross. Its base is decorated with religious symbols, inscriptions and hieroglyphs. The monument is located within a very lively square in the city, to which a stone fountain was added in 1841, and some ancient statues and sculptures surround the fountain. And spread in the square next to the monument a group of shops, souvenir shops and handicrafts, as well as some restaurants and cafes.
