Dambulla is located in the Matale district of Sri Lanka, at the junction between the major cities of Colombo, Matale and Kandy. Due to its strategic location, it has great commercial importance, being the vegetable distribution center in the country. The city is famous for the Dambulla Temple, which is the largest and most important cave complex in the province, and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and contains many paintings, sculptures and statues of Buddha, and although most tourists visit the city to see these caves, there are many other beautiful monuments Around the city, like Mount Rose Quartz, Ironwood Forest, Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium which was built in just 167 days. It is worth mentioning that everything in Dambulla is reasonably priced, including the delicious and authentic Sri Lankan food made with loads of herbs and spices.
