The Bekaa, one of Lebanon's governorates, is a wide plain extending between the eastern and western Lebanese mountain ranges. Its lands are fertile and the two largest rivers in Lebanon flow through it: the Litani and the Orontes. Therefore, during the previous centuries, this region formed the Levant's reservoir of grains, vegetables and fruits. The Bekaa Valley constitutes an obligatory corridor between northern Syria and Palestine, as it was crossed by caravans at times and invaders at other times. Today, it is considered the largest agricultural area in Lebanon, dotted with farms, villages, fields, and vineyards that cover the plain with a multi-colored scarf. Your path is often blocked by agricultural tractors that harvest sugar beets, and shepherds who lead herds of sheep and goats on both sides of the path. It is best to always carry in your hand. A camera to capture the amazing views that surprise you around the corners. As for the climate and weather, the dry climate of the Bekaa in the summer is characterized by hot weather during the day and cool, refreshing evenings, and in the winter, the days are cold most of the time with bright sunshine. The Bekaa is famous for its abundant archaeological sites, the most prominent of which are the great Roman temples of “Baalbek,” but visitors come there. Also for the delicious restaurants spread throughout it.
