Information about The Governor's Palace
The Governor's Palace is one of the most important historical palaces in Rijeka, built as a trading and business center for the ruler of Rijeka. It was designed by architect Alajos Hauszmann from 1892 until 1893. The commissioner and initiator of the governor's palace project was Count Lajos Bathyány, therefore, it is no wonder that Hungarian architect Alajos Hauszmann, who designed a series of royal and governmental institutions in Budapest, was chosen as the architect. The project was established in the period from 1892 to 1893, the construction was carried out very quickly, so in 1897 the building was completed.
