Information about Park Nikole Hosta
Next to Malacca Park, Nicole Hosta is one of the oldest parks in Rijeka. It was created in the 19th century as a botanical garden by Villa Androch, at the time it was owned by Archduke Joseph, a great lover and connoisseur of garden art. The park is located on rocky terrain and on several levels, and the sculptures, fountains and exotic plants, which Archduke acquired from different parts of the world, make the park look like a chain of English gardens. The park is named after an Austrian botanist who participated in its cultivation, and today the National Archives is housed in Villa Androch.
