The museum's holdings include materials collected in several collections. The musical collection includes musical instruments and excellently preserved for sound reproduction, the visual arts collection includes artworks by artists who lived and made art in Rijeka, as well as a collection of documentary materials containing various documents from the city's past. There are also film and photographic collections, as well as collections of theater and film items, weapons, journalism, art crafts, a coinage collection, a collection of valuable items, medals and trophies, and a "varia" (which includes a host of other preserved objects).
