The Prison Museum is located to the south of the Museum of the Bulgarian Renaissance and the Constituent Assembly in Veliko Tarnovo. It was built of stone in the mid-19th century and served as a prison until 1954. It consists of a ground floor and two upper floors. There are inner courtyards surrounded by high walls and some service buildings. We feel the real atmosphere of the prison through the rooms where many famous revolutionaries were imprisoned and tortured, and the instruments of torture can be seen at that time.
