The ancient city of Kayseri is located in the eastern part of Cappadocia on the borders of Mount Argyas, which has a height of 3,916 meters. It is characterized by popular bazaars and unique Turkish Seljuk architecture dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. The glistening volcanic tufa rocks of Cappadocian buildings. Kayseri's historic buildings contrast with the upscale modern ski slopes of Argyas. With its mix of Seljuk tombs, mosques and modern developments, Kayseri is Turkey's most Islamic city after Konya and an economic powerhouse nicknamed the Anatolian Tigers.
