Information about Zeugma Ancient City
The ancient city of Zeugma is a city built on the hills 10 kilometers east of the Najib district of Gaziantep. It was established by the generals of Alexander the Great in 300 BC. Alexander established a second city opposite this city in the name of his wife Abama and linked these two cities with a bridge. The city was Connected to Rome since 31 BC and its name was changed to "Zeugma". During the Roman era, the city lived its golden age, and advanced a lot in the field of art, and the mosaic floors that decorate the rich villas in it compete with international examples.
