The University of Padua Botanical Garden is the oldest academic garden in the world, founded by Benedictine monks in 1545 AD, and covers a spacious area of 22,000 square meters. It has a historical design and a special collection of more than 3,500 species of plants, varied from tropical to semi-humid regions, and from temperate regions to deserts.
