St. Anthony's Basilica of Padua is a Roman Catholic church and small cathedral in Padua and Veneto in northern Italy and was built after St. Anthony. Although visitors visit it as a place of pilgrimage from all over the world, it is not the city's grandiose cathedral, a title for St. Mary's Cathedral in Padua. The church is known locally as "El Santo". It is one of the eight international shrines recognized by the Holy See.
