Although the exact date of the construction of the Al-Tahtani Mosque and the person who built it is unknown, it is believed to have been built in 1557 and to have been repaired by Osman Pasha, the ruler of Marash in 1563, and the mosque is said to have been first built of wood, then restored It is built of cut stone, and today it has a rectangular plan parallel to the qibla.
