The construction of the Silifke Museum building began in 1973, and it entered service on August 2, 1973, with its administrative building and exhibition halls. The Silifke Museum is located on two floors and overlooks an open outdoor garden. Here, archaeological and ethnographic artifacts, dating back to antiquity, Greek, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods starting from the Neolithic period until 1200 BC, are on display.
