Silvke Castle, which is understood to belong to the Hellenistic or early Roman period according to its basic rules, today appears as a medieval castle as a result of the reforms and changes it underwent. It is an ancient Roman fortress with arched galleries, water cisterns, warehouses, and the remains of other buildings within the oval-shaped fortress, which was built on a 185-meter-high hill overlooking Silveci, surrounded by a dry moat. It was mentioned in the monument that Silifke Castle had 23 fortresses in the nineteenth century, and that it contained a mosque and 60 houses.
