The Sunny Wood Museum of Sculpture was opened to the public in 1995 in Taichung. It is the first national museum in Taiwan dedicated solely to wood carving. It includes nine different exhibitions, and embodies an inseparable link between tradition, innovation and modern development. You will notice that most of the carvings here are religious, because they were predominantly Sani. However, in recent years, the industry has shifted to include a more creative and personal approach to sculpture. Museum visitors can see many of these local creations, along with sculptures from all over the world.
