Information about Santa Paula Cemetery
The history of Santa Paula cemetery dates back to 1970 AD, after the outbreak of smallpox, and by 1788 it had become a mass grave. In that cemetery are buried people with limited resources, as well as some prominent personalities and victims of the cholera epidemic from 1850-1852 in Mexico. But after the passage of time, Santa Paula was almost completely destroyed as a result of an earthquake in 1858 AD, but some traces of it and the effects of statues still exist to this day.
