This park was called the Alcantador Garden or the Singer's Garden because it was owned by the young Jose Carpio, who devoted himself to developing music and encouraged the population with his songs. He was known as "Alcantador". The park was established in 1898 with four gates, a kiosk, two fountains and a duck pond. Formerly a courtyard, this park was a meeting place for the people of Guanajuato who were waiting for their relatives who would travel to the city by train.
