The ancient Phoenician wall is considered one of the most important historical places in Batroun. The ancient Phoenician sea wall was originally a natural structure consisting of petrified sand dunes, then the Phoenicians gradually reinforced it with stones, and the wall took its present form as it is today in the first century BC. This wall was used by the Phoenicians as protection against sea storms and invaders, while it was used again in Roman times as a quarry. It is about 225 meters long and 1 to 1.5 meters thick. Parts of it collapsed, but it still stands as a fortress against the sea for the inhabitants of the old city, and today it is a charming destination for strolling and exploring the nature and alleys of the city.
