Information about Paste Museum
The Musée Basté in Hidalgo was established as the first unique restaurant dedicated solely to serving and displaying traditional food for people who love food and gourmets. The museum seeks to disseminate and promote the gastronomic heritage of "pasti", in Arabic "pie", a food of British origin brought to Hidalgo by engineers and contractors from Cornwall, England who worked in the mines in the 19th century. The museum includes an audio-visual room, in which a documentary film is shown explaining the different stages of mining in the region and how they affected gastronomy using dough, in addition to a historical room where there are photographs, mining tools and rhetorical heritage, and there is also a traditional kitchen room where various traditional foods are displayed. .
