Information about House of the Count of Regla
Built in 1768 as the residence of Pedro Romero de Terreros, the Count of the Royal Governor's House was partially demolished in 1928 and subsequently declared a historical monument. This house was designed in the style of the palatial houses built by the nobles of the period, unlike most palaces of New Spain, this palace did not have extensions open to the street, but the windows on the ground floor were as high as the main gate, which gives it prestige and luxury. The palace was distinguished by the special attention that the Count put in decorating both the spaces and the rooms with carved silver artifacts, making it one of the most luxurious palaces in the city.
