An old cathedral in the Diocese of Wellington under the supervision of the Anglican Church. It has a historic location and is a major city landmark and a great venue for weddings and events in the heart of the city and is an example of renovated 19th century Gothic architecture adapted to colonial conditions and materials. Designed by the Reverend Frederick Thatcher, then a vicar of St. Paul's, the cornerstone was laid in August 1865.
