Information about Parliament Buildings
The Parliament House is located on an area of 45,000 square metres, and is the New Zealand Parliament House. Parliament buildings include: Parliament House, the Executive Wing, the Parliamentary Library, and the Bowen House. A former wooden Parliament building was destroyed by the fire of war in 1907 along with all other Parliament buildings except the Library. In February 1911, Prime Minister Joseph Ward announced a competition to find an alternative design and 33 designs were entered, to be selected for this unique and distinctive design.
