Information about National Archaeological Museum
The Jordan Archaeological Museum is a Jordanian museum that was built in 1951 AD, and is located on the top of the Citadel Mountain in the center of Amman. These collections have been arranged chronologically from the Paleolithic period to Islamic times. The museum exhibits include various pottery pieces, glass and metal pieces, pottery figurines, gypsum, and stone, in addition to inscriptions, writings, seals, groups of gold jewelry, and coins representing different eras. Historical, and among the most important contents of the museum are the plaster statues of Ain Ghazal dating back to about 6000 BC, as well as the copper Dead Sea manuscript written in Aramaic letters.
