The Mar Elisha Monastery is located at the beginning of the Qadisha Valley. It is one of the ancient monasteries built in the rocks and among the mountains. It is famous and distinguished because of the small churches that appeared among the rocks. This monastery has been home to Christian monastic communities for centuries, and has received many priests who chose to escape their lives to pray and lived their whole lives there.
