The Jordanian Museum of Folk Traditions was established in 1971. It aims to collect Jordanian and Palestinian folklore from all over Jordan, to protect and preserve this heritage and present it to future generations. The museum is also interested in presenting folklore to the world. The museum contains five exhibition halls, the first hall is dedicated to the traditional costumes of the East Bank, and in the second hall, traditional jewelry and cosmetics from various regions of the East and West Bank are displayed, the third hall contains a collection of Palestinian costumes and dresses, and in the fourth hall a group of pottery and wooden utensils And food preparation utensils, as well as a collection of silver jewelry and wedding dresses from the West Bank, and the Fifth Hall, located in the vault of the Roman theater, includes a group of mosaics from the Byzantine churches of Jerash and Madaba.
