The Jouz River originates in the Tannourine region, in the North Lebanon Governorate, and flows into the Mediterranean Sea near the city of Batroun, and its length is about 38 kilometers. The Jouz River feeds the Batroun district with drinking and irrigation water, and the length of its course is distinguished by the dense forest wealth. On the right bank of the Al-Jawz River lies the archaeological fortress of Al-Masilha, south of Ras Al-Shaqa'a. The Joz River is an important tourist attraction, as it is visited by tourists throughout the year.
