Bab al-Sahira is located on the northern side of the Jerusalem wall, half a kilometer east of Bab al-Amud. It is simple in construction and dates back to the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, and is also known as Herod's Gate; It was a small gate of little use during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, and in 1875 the present gate was built to allow the residents to enter and exit the city more comfortably.
