Golia Monastery is a Roman Orthodox monastery established by the boyar Ioan Golia in the 16th century. Today it is listed as a National Historic Monument, and in 2012 was awarded the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage. Surrounded by high walls, it features short corner towers and a tower Goliath with a height of 30 meters and is considered one of the main symbols of the city of Iasi, and from the top of the tower one can enjoy a wonderful view of the city; To get there, you have to climb 120 steps, and the monastery also houses the Museum of Ion Kryanga, the famous Romanian writer and former curator of the monastery church and the cultural missionary center in Moldavia and Bukovina.
