Information about Cedars Of God Bsharri
The Cedars of God Forest is one of the last remnants of the Lebanese Cedar forests that flourished across Mount Lebanon in ancient times. Their timber was exploited by the Phoenicians, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Romans and Turks. The Ottoman Empire used cedar to build railways, and legend has it that a battle took place between demigods and humans over the beautiful and divine forest of cedar trees near southern Mesopotamia. Protected by the Sumerian god Enlil, this forest was completely devoid of trees when humans entered its lands 4,700 years ago after winning the battle against demigods.
