Information about Bodrum Museum Of Underwater Archaeology
Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archeology, one of the few important museums in the world, is the only underwater archaeological museum in Turkey. In this museum, located in the Bodrum Castle, artifacts from excavations in Bodrum and its surroundings, as well as the remains of underwater excavations, are displayed. The museum includes 14 exhibition halls, and most of the exhibits are an amphora, and some of these bottles are gifts from those interested in the profession of sponge diving. Apart from the amphorae, we can say that the most important element in this museum is the remains of a sunken ship, which belongs to a boat that sank in 1025 AD, and it is known to be the oldest sunken ship remains in the world.
