Anzel Pond was completely destroyed in 1978 as a result of unplanned urban expansion, after which a fire station was built. Until the 1950s Anzel was known as one of the city's three important water sources. Nowadays it is a great place to spend time as it has turned into Anzel Park, which is suitable for families especially children who enjoy the cool refreshing water there.
