The Alexander Boya Botanical Garden, also known as the Craiova Botanical Garden, is a garden of a scientific organization in which botanical samples are collected from different regions of the country and preserved as reference and study materials for students of the University of Craiova. The garden occupies a large area in the center of the city of Craiova, with an area of about 12.8 hectares, was established in 1952 on the initiative of Professor Alexandru Buia of the University of Craiova, and includes a wide variety of plants and trees from around the world, and hosts a wide variety of aquatic plants, as well as many species of birds.
