Al-Abbas Island, or as the residents of Arwad prefer to call it Al-Habbas Island, is located south of the city of Tartus on a pier no more than twenty meters deep. The island's beach is famous for its purity and softness of sand. The island was formed since ancient times from the remains of huge rocks that clearly show traces of erosion, while some herbs grow at a high height in some parts of the island. What distinguishes Al-Abbas Island is that it is an island full of life throughout the year, where it is visited by seagulls, and some ducks in the fall, as well as by many visitors in the summer.
