Arwad Island is one of the islands belonging to the State of Syria. It is an ancient island located in the eastern side of the Mediterranean Sea. It is the only inhabited island in Syria and along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It can be reached by transport boats that dock in the port of Tartus. The island has a distinctive geographical location that has made it the focus of attention of many different civilizations over time, such as Assyrian, Greek and other civilizations, and the reason for this is because it is located at the crossroads of international trade between Asia Minor, Egypt, Cyprus, and the island of Rhodes.
