The history of the city of Tarsus goes back more than 6000 years, during which it played a distinguished role at various levels. History mentions it as one of the important capitals of the Roman Empire, the meeting point of Cleopatra and Mark Antony I, and an important trade route on which the civilizations of the East and the West intersected. Beautiful tourist places and monuments are spread throughout the city, where it is famous for the presence of some of the oldest churches dating back to the beginnings of Christianity, historical buildings that still exist since the Pharaonic and Roman civilizations, markets and Ottoman mosques, in addition to museums and cultural centers that document the biography of some of the most important personalities who passed through. This city has had a long history.
