It is known that most of the highways in use today follow ancient methods in design, and it is clear that the road to the Roman Quarter of Salkli today has been largely destroyed, which was known as the most important road linking the Mediterranean Sea with Central Anatolia in history, while extending north to the Taurus Mountains from Hills whose height does not exceed 200 m. There is also a huge gate at the top of the road overlooking the plain of Tarsus to the sea, but since the inscription of the building was not found, the reason for its construction and its date are unknown, and this one-arched door, which was built with a simple craftsmanship, was recently destroyed by the dynamite that was distributed around it, and incorrectly reconstructed using existing stones.
