Information about Wire bridge
The wire suspension bridge over Fulda, which is about 84 meters long, was built in 1870 as a pedestrian bridge and can also be used by cyclists. The bridge has an eventful history. After the destruction and reconstruction in 1940, the Kassel City Council decided to replace the entire superstructure, including the ropes. The bridge has a very poetic value for visitors and the people of the country. On this bridge, locks of wishes that are written on papers are hung, and the owners of the wish keep the key, hoping that the bridge will fulfill their wishes one day.
