In this shallow valley and within the gates of this amazing archaeological site are buried the wives of the pharaohs, the first princesses, and some nobles. The main valley contains 91 graves, and the subsidiary valleys add 19 other graves. The history of the first tomb in the region dates back to the period of Pharaoh Tuthus I, which is the tomb of Princess Ahmose. The tombs dating back to this period also include the tombs of some nobles, including the chief of the stables and a vizier. At the present time, visitors to the valley will have the opportunity to explore the eventful pharaonic history, as they will find pharaonic drawings, statues, inscriptions, huge gates and many others during their roaming in the region. The tomb of Queen Nefertiti is the most famous tomb in the region.
