Thebes Necropolis or Thebes Cemetery is an ancient cemetery covering a vast area on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor in Upper Egypt, and the area is undoubtedly one of the most famous tourist attractions in Egypt. Thebes, the city of the god Amun, was the capital of Egypt during the period of the Middle and New Kingdoms, and it includes temples, palaces and a number of important archaeological sites.
