One of the largest cemeteries in the Mediterranean, with an area of about 80 hectares. It is a Punic cemetery located in a hill inside the city of Cagliari. It dates back to the sixth and third centuries BC. The Carthaginians chose this hill to bury their dead. These cemeteries were reached when digging a well in the stone. limestone with a depth of two to eleven metres. These burial chambers are decorated with many inscriptions and natural drawings of palm trees that are still preserved in the rock as they were. The tomb was opened to visitors in 2014.
