Thiruvabudiyar Temple is one of the smallest Hindu religious temples surrounding the Amman Minashki Temple, and it is considered one of the most important archaeological treasures in the city, where the kings and sultans did a lot to keep and preserve this temple. It was established by the Pande kings, and then expanded by the Nayak kings, to include today the shrine of the chief deity, Lord Shiva, in an important sign of its sanctity and emphasizing its importance as a pilgrimage shrine.
