يُعتبر برج المجلس أحد أشهر المعالم الأثرية في سيبيو، ويحمل هذا الاسم لأنه استُخدم للدفاع عن بوابة الدخول الواقعة في المنطقة المجاورة مباشرة لقاعة مدينة سيبيو قديمًا، وكان للبرج استخدامات مختلفة على مرّ التاريخ مثل مخزن حبوب وسطح لمراقبة الحرائق وموقع للتوقيف المؤقت ومتحف للعلوم الطبيعية في منتصف القرن الثامن عشر.
