Information about The Corpus Clock
The Corpus Clock - also known as the Grasshopper's Clock - is one of the strangest and most beautiful attractions in Cambridge. It was built in 2008 and is located outside the Taylor Library at Corpus Christi College, an exceptional gold-plated time-measuring device invented by Dr. John C. Taylor Taylor), and what distinguishes it is that when the clock strikes, the bells do not ring, but rather their chains vibrate and the hammer strikes a wooden coffin, and this movement symbolizes that time passes and we will all die in the end.
