It is a Roman temple dedicated to the king of the Roman gods and the god of heaven and lightning "Jupiter". The temple is located in the ancient city of Baalbek on the western slope of the eastern mountains of Lebanon, and it is part of the Baalbek religious complex consisting of three monuments. The temple consists of six columns, each 22 meters long. The temple is surrounded by a wide open yard filled with statues and stone carvings from ancient Roman remains, including 30 granite columns.
