During World War II, when people from all over the Soviet Union were evacuated to Tashkent and neighboring cities, the Botanical Garden was opened in the capital of Uzbekistan on the initiative of Academician Fedor Rusanov. Over the past 50 years, more than 4,500 species of trees, flowers and plants have been collected in the garden, and plants have been collected from all over the planet. There are plants from Central Asia, East Asia, North America and Europe. In addition to the picturesque plants, the park also has shaded rest areas and some tanks from World War II.
