The Swansea Museum is the oldest museum in Wales, having been established by order of the Royal Court in the year 1841, and it was built in the neoclassical style. The museum contains many exhibits detailing the history of the city and the region from the Neolithic era to the Roman occupation period. Among the exhibits there are vases, food tools, fossils, musical instruments and clothing, and the museum contains a wonderful Egyptian mummy.
