The Sokolsky Monastery is located in the Sokolova Cave region, 15 km southeast of Gabrovo and 4 km from the Itar Open Air Ethnographic Museum. The monastery is connected to the Itar complex by a tourist path passing through a beautiful natural area, and an asphalt road connects the monastery with the city. Built by Yosif Sokolski in 1834, to replace the old wooden buildings and huts, this monastery is a large domed building, to which stunning frescoes were added later. In 1868, Kolyu Ficheto built a round stone fountain with eight tubes in the monastery's courtyard, which has been preserved to this day and is now one of the most interesting features of the monastery.
