The Shipka mountain pass is a picturesque natural pass, located at an altitude of 1,190 meters through the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria, which marks the border between Stara Zagora Province and Gabrovo Province, connects the towns of Gabrovo and Kazanlak, and is part of the Bulgarian Nature Park. While walking through this trail, one can enjoy stunning landscapes, amazing views of Gabrovo and its surroundings, as well as explore the Shipka Monument, a stone tower that commemorates those who died during the numerous battles and marks the victory over the Ottoman forces during the Russo-Turkish war in A.D. 1877 and 1878, as well as watching the charming Valley of Roses.
